We are a group of volunteers, who teach diving, we go diving, we talk diving.
Oxford BSAC is a vibrant and welcoming scuba diving club based in Oxford, part of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) network.
Run by passionate volunteer instructors and divers, we offer scuba diving training, trips, and social events for all experience levels — from beginner divers and snorkelers to seasoned professionals.
Our members come from across Oxfordshire, including Bicester, Didcot, Witney, Aylesbury, and beyond, with many joining us during the week while working or studying in Oxford.

Our Legacy
Since our founding in 1956, Oxford BSAC has grown to become one of the oldest and most successful diving clubs in the UK.
Over the decades, we’ve built a legacy of diving excellence and community spirit.
Our longstanding history is marked by numerous diving adventures and training programs that have fostered a passionate and skilled diving community.
Our collaboration with the Oxford University Underwater Exploration Group (OUUEG), founded in 1963, enhances our offerings and provides unique opportunities for our members.
OUUEG is a vibrant group of divers, including students, staff, alumni of the University of Oxford, and local community members. This partnership allows us to pool resources, share knowledge, and organise joint diving expeditions and training sessions (OUUEG).

Diving Adventures:

We dive most weekends, offering countless opportunities to explore both local and international waters.
Our regular dive weekends off our club boat in Plymouth, shore dives, and multiple annual trips to exotic locations such as the Red Sea, Gozo (Malta), Scapa Flow, the Sound of Mull, and the Isles of Scilly are just the beginning.
We are always open to members suggesting new dive events, ensuring there’s always something thrilling on the horizon. community.
Hard Boat Access:
One of our standout features is our own hard boat, moored in Plymouth.
This unique advantage sets us apart from many other clubs, providing unparalleled convenience and flexibility for our diving expeditions.
Dive with ease and confidence, knowing our hard boat is at your disposal. Plus, using our club boat is significantly cheaper than booking with a local expedition organisation, making it an economical choice for frequent diving adventures.
Flexible Training:
Our BSAC-certified volunteer instructors offer a flexible and friendly training experience.
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to advance your skills, we tailor our comprehensive training programs to fit your schedule, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable certification journey. While training is important it should always be fun!
Fortnightly Pool Sessions:
Our regular pool sessions at Radley College Pool are not just for training – they’re a hub of fun and community.
With a 3.5m dive pit, we offer safe, personalised training for new and experienced members.
Join us for underwater rugby games, equipment testing, family swims, and relaxed social swims. It’s a fantastic opportunity to refine your skills and enjoy quality time with fellow members.
Equipment Rentals:
Dive into the sport without the financial burden.
We provide an array of BCDs, regulators, cylinders, fins, and more at significantly reduced rates.
Our equipment rental program ensures that all members, regardless of experience, can fully participate and enjoy diving while making it as economical as possible.
Thriving Community:
Oxford BSAC is more than just a dive club – it’s a social community for the whole family.
Beyond diving, we offer a welcoming environment where you can seek advice on kit and configurations, join social meetups at our clubhouse or further afield, and participate in prearranged evening meals and events.
