Diving from Isis out of Dale.

A quick weekend’s diving from the Western tip of South Wales. Plan is to dive from Dale just next to Haverfordwest. Trips out with 6 divers and 2 crew.

At time of writing, the B&B at Meadow Rue has 7 spaces for that weekend at £25 per night. They need £30 deposit per person for bookings. Otherwise for the hardy there’s camping. Rose, Kerrie and I will be staying in the Mongolian Yurt !

We’ll launch from Dale where a nice pontoon offers easy loading and unloading with diving access to the wrecks of the Behar, Dakotian, Lucy and others only 10 minutes away. Second dives on the island of Skokolm to play with ‘friendly’ seals are a possibility, weather permitting, and lots of marine life to play with. Kerrie and I found scallops as big as tea plates there 4 years ago.

Using only one boat we’ll be a small group and this is a trip open only to qualified, experienced divers. I’m not limiting grades but please check with the DO if you’re unsure of your experience level.

Costs

Costs are relatively low – we’ll have to pay for boat fuel with the usual small boat diving fee and accommodation in the campsite is something like £25 a night.

For dinner there’s a range of places to eat in Haverfordwest or we could even cook a barbecue in the campsite.

Saturday

• Dive 1 – Wreck of the Behar, slack at 10.50.
• Dive 2 – Skokolm Island
• Dive 3 – Landing craft reef (time permitting)

Sunday

• Dive 1 – Wreck of the Dakotian – slack at 11.20
• Dive 2 – Skolmer Wall
• Dive 3 – Seal watching around Skolmer / Skokolm (time permitting).
