These are all trips which have been and gone or never actually happened! Either way some of the planning details here might prove useful to someone so we’ll leave them on the website.
The plan is to do some easy wreck diving – Countess of Erne and the Hartlepool on Saturday and on Sunday venture slightly further round Portland if possible to the James Fennel, finishing up with a drift (and maybe scallops) on Grove Point. All dives will be under 20m, so suitable for all grades.
Day 1 (29/10/11) – Coronation WreckThe Coronation was a 90-gun Second Rate Ship in Line that was wrecked in 1691 off Penlee Point, Cornwall. There are two main areas of wreckage, the offshore and inshore site. Below is information I have taken from the Coronation Wreck Project website, http://www.coronationwreck.co.uk/index.html.
‘The offshore site comprises of rugged rock formations and sand-filled gullies. The site is in a general depth of 18 – 20m and has some kelp and low level vegetable turf covering the area. A large variety of marine life inhabits the site. The site has seventeen cannon and three anchors within it…
Diving from Isis out of Dale.A quick weekend’s diving from the Western tip of South Wales. Plan is to dive from Dale just next to Haverfordwest. Trips out with 6 divers and 2 crew.
At time of writing, the B&B at Meadow Rue has 7 spaces for that weekend at £25 per night. They need £30 deposit per person for bookings. Otherwise for the hardy there’s camping. Rose, Kerrie and I will be staying in the Mongolian Yurt !

We are based in Stromness and once you get there, you will find the accommodation, dive boat within 100 yards of the ferry port. Its not that big a place. That might affect whether you want to put your car on the ferry etc… However we will need a couple of vehicles for sightseeing as Orkney is spectacular assuming I can drag any of you out of the pub!!
Once again we have our annual get-together with clubs from across Oxfordshire to dive from Weymouth.
After last years partially successful (despite the weather) weekend, we are at it again! This year we are going back to Weymouth, camping at the popular East Fleet Campsite where we have a great relationship with the owners and we hope to have lots of you attending for some great diving from many different platforms (including our new hard boat) and some excellent socialising.

Fin the late summer dive season the seas around the west coast of Scotland boast some of the best diving conditions in the UK. Visibility is rarely less than 12m and marine life abounds. Basking sharks, Dolphin, Minke Wales and Seals are visitors at this time of year – spend a surface interval snorkelling with seals and porpoise and the time flies by.
The Garvellachs are a small group of Islands to the SW of Oban and are an area of outstanding natural beauty both above and below the water with exceptional water clarity. They experience some of the strongest tides in the UK making for very exciting drift diving and the wall dives have some amazing jewel anemone beds. They also have several large intact steamship era wrecks within a short distance (the Meldon, the SS Breda, the Shuna, the Benghazi, the Thesis, and even the Hispania may all be dived from here).
Following on from last spring’s event with the University branch, Chris Stevens and Andy White are organising another weekend with even more branches from around Oxfordshire. This year we will be going back to Kimmeridge from 19th to the 22nd May.
We are taking both Isis and Naiad to Pentewan sands for Dive Fest 2011.
Both snorkeling and diving are planned with the reefs and wrecks of this Cornish beauty spot well worth the trip.
Avoid the royal wedding malarky and come diving instead!
