Snorkelling and Skill Development Courses (SDCs)

As well as the regular snorkelling courses available to the snorkel members there are a number of Skill Development Courses (SDCs) that are aimed firstly at divers but can be very useful to snorkellers. These courses are a great way of building your experience and knowledge, learning a new skill and having some fun. The courses are either arranged by HQ or organised by our branch itself.

The following courses are available

  • Oxygen Administration
  • Practical Rescue Management
  • First Aid for Divers
  • Outboard and boat maintenance
  • Boat Handling
  • Chart work and Position Fixing
  • Automated External Defibrillator
  • VHF radio
  • Diesel maintenance
  • Snorkel lifesaver award
  • Advanced snorkel lifesaver award

Over the next year mini SDC’s will become available for snorkellers

  • Underwater photography for snorkellers
  • Rope work for snorkellers
  • Marine Appreciation for snorkellers
  • Chart work and weather for snorkellers
