FREE Try Dives on 30th April

Have you ever thought about learning to dive but were unsure how or where to start? Now is your chance to take that first step by coming along to Hinksey Outdoor Pool Open Day on Saturday 30th April 2011.

On this special annual occasion, all try dives will be FREE (normally £10). Almost anyone over the age of 12 can take part in an introductory try-dive and discover the benefits of diving with BSAC (British Sub-Aqua Club). A BSAC Try Dive is the perfect introduction to scuba diving so if you have always wanted to learn, would like to test out the water before you go on holiday or are just curious, then a Try Dive with Oxford BSAC is for you. You will be offered a short taster dive, which includes poolside tuition on diving skills and equipment, followed by scuba diving in the pool.

Following on from a Try Dive experience, participants over the age of 14 can take the BSAC Ocean Diver course which includes five open water dives. The BSAC Ocean Diver qualification is the stepping stone to a lifelong diving adventure, with the waters of the UK – and around the world – just waiting to be explored.

Oxford BSAC generally meets in its clubhouse – situated next to Hinksey Pools – on Wednesday and Friday evenings (and it is from this venue that on Saturday 30th they will be offering refreshments to Try Dive participants and their families).

Oxford BSAC – which is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers – are also actively encouraging qualified divers (who have learnt with any agency) to join and dive with them around the UK and abroad.
