On a beautiful Easter Saturday we took advantage of the calm sheltered conditions of Lulworth Cove to take some Ocean Diver trainees into the sea for the first time.
Here are some photos from our weekend diving some of the wrecks around Portland. With 10m+ vis and lovely sunny warm weather this was a great weekend. The only downer was that away from Portland the vis was so poor we had to abort a dive on the Sidon before it even got started.

Here are some photos from two of our members’ January 2011 trip to Hurghada, Egypt to dive the Red Sea – one of the best places to dive in the World. This particular trip was “Straits of Tiran and the North” organised by Blue O Two – who were very good.
It was freezing cold with 3-4 inches of ice on the surface. It took Nick Alsworth three attempts to break through (which was captured by the local press) and finally we went for a dive.
Using a safety line to find our way back to the hole, we managed about 20 minutes under the ice.
Here are some photos from our trip to Plymouth to dive the James Eagon Lane and the Scylla. This should have been a fantastic trip, but as those who dived will tell you the vis wasn’t so good on this occasion. If you think that was bad luck, spare a thought for me – I paid, travelled and then missed the diving in excrutiating pain (root canal trouble). Give me 1m vis over that any day!
